  • Daviess County Parks & Recreation will host the Family + Farm Agriculture Day at Panther Creek Park this Saturday, July 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., where visitors will see antique and modern farm equipment, a mobile dairy classroom with a live Jersey cow, and Future Farmers of America contests.   • The Alma Randolph Charitable Foundation is hosting its annual back-to-school event today from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Burlington, Bealls and Ross stores in Owensboro—each disadvantaged child will receive a $100 voucher to buy school clothes.  14 News
  • The Junior League of Owensboro is hosting a Lele Sadoughi pop-up this Saturday at Julep Home and Gift on Frederica Street from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. — part of the event’s proceeds will benefit its Free Laundry Day initiative while the League holds a Summer Laundry Day at AC Discount Laundry from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The Owensboro Times

  • Kahawa Java, a coffee shop co-owned by Ticy and Ayanna Cox, will move from its West Parrish Avenue location to a new space downtown at 318 St. Elizabeth Street—just steps from Owensboro's upcoming sports complex. The business will close its current shop on July 26 and plans to reopen in early August, marking its third anniversary and a new chapter in hosting community events.  The Owensboro Times

CULTURE NEWS

  • Local podcast A Couple of Sassholes will feature psychotherapist Kelly Sutliff—domestic violence survivor and founder of Kelly’s K9s—Tails of Courage—sharing her powerful story from ID Channel’s Toxic series; the two-part episode airs July 31 at 7:00 a.m. CT with the second half on August 7. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A repair project on the Carter Road Bridge over the US-60 Bypass in Owensboro begins today and will reduce lanes on westbound US-60 and northbound Carter Road until September. Officials said periodic closures to traffic on the bypass may occur as work continues.  44 News

SPORTS NEWS

  • Owensboro cousins Nora and Allie Camp qualified for the NBHA Youth & Teen World Championships at the Georgia National Fairgrounds this week, with Allie in the 3D division and Nora in the 4D division as scoring lets them compete in any of the five divisions on Saturday. They will race today and again on Thursday against about 3,000 riders as they aim to advance to the championship.  The Owensboro Times
