- ➤ Habitat for Humanity gave keys to three new houses in Owensboro after a hail storm damaged them and pushed their opening back to July 27. The organization also announced Amanda Green as its new Executive Director & said it will work to build more homes for local families. 14 News
- ➤ Habitat for Humanity Owensboro-Daviess County named Amanda Green as its new executive director at a three-home ceremony held at Cargill Corner on Sunday afternoon. The Owensboro native returned after nearly 30 years away and will work to build community ties and expand partnerships—replacing Jeremy Stephens. The Owensboro Times
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Sunday at 1:15 a.m., deputies, firefighters and ambulance crews responded near Knottsville in east Daviess County to a fatal ATV wreck when the driver lost control on Highway 951 and hit a tree; first responders tried to save the man but he was pronounced dead—officials are investigating the cause. - ➤ At 8:10 p.m. Saturday, the Daviess County Fire Department arrived on Garden Drive near Masonville to control a house fire that had smoke coming from all sides—no injuries were reported and the cause remains under investigation. 14 News
- ➤ A man died when his ATV veered off Highway 951 and hit a tree early Sunday morning in Daviess County — the road was closed for several hours before reopening. TriStateHomepage.com

- ➤ The BlueGrass Mountain Cup held its fourth event today at Rudy Mines Trails in Daviess County after being postponed from July 13 due to inclement weather — racers from multiple states competed as director Josh Patton credited Owensboro and the parks department for strong support. 14 News
- ➤ The Owensboro Bombers won their fifth straight State Championship when Carter Kimmel pitched six innings allowing one earned run while key hits in the fourth and fifth helped the team gain a lead. They will play in the Regional Tournament in Asheboro from August 6-10 and coach Matt Freeman said the win was a total team effort. The Owensboro Times
