  • Today, Escape Today relaunches with a new karaoke room, golf simulator, dart machines, pool tables, and a basketball arcade game added to its existing retro arcade, axe throwing, and escape rooms in downtown Owensboro. The business also begins weekend drink service through a partnership with The Brew Bridge and offers 50% off new activities from noon today until 6 p.m. on August 3—inviting locals to enjoy modern entertainment options.  The Owensboro Times

CRIME NEWS

  • Kentucky State Police are searching for two women who escaped from Dismas Charities in Owensboro earlier this week—Latavia Green, 25, is wanted for criminal possession of a forged instrument and Eva Spencer, 36, is wanted for fraudulent use of a credit card.  TriStateHomepage.com

ECONOMY NEWS

  • The Owensboro Riverport Authority is upgrading a 12-inch water line with $1.3 million HB1 funds to boost water pressure for a 50-acre industrial site near 1771 River Road (the project is managed by Owensboro Municipal Utilities). The work will be completed this month (with plans underway for a future sewer pump station and power substation) to make the area more attractive to new tenants.  The Owensboro Times

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Owensboro Transit is seeking federal grant funding to boost paratransit services, improve bus stop accessibility, and add shelters so that people with disabilities and the elderly can ride more safely. The FTA will cover 80% of capital and planning costs & the city and Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will each contribute 10% as the agency plans upgrades through 2028.  The Owensboro Times
