  • At the Owensboro Family YMCA, six high school seniors were honored at the 17th annual Young Leaders Luncheon on Friday afternoon at the Jack T. Wells Center on the Kentucky Wesleyan College campus. The event awarded scholarships from a $10,000 fund provided by local businesses — attendance grew from about 150 last year to roughly 175 this year.  The Owensboro Times

  • Brad Richard of Thermwood Corporation was crowned the Sexiest Factory Worker after winning 33,786 votes—he will claim a three-day, two-night stay at the Holiday Inn Resort in Panama City Beach.  WOMI Owensboro
  • Big Whiskey’s American Restaurant and Bar finished construction at 234 Frederica Street in the former Bar Louie space and is running trial runs as it prepares for its grand opening on August 15—marking the franchise's first Kentucky location. The locally owned restaurant by Alan and Lisa Lawrence features over 6,000 square feet of reconfigured dining space, extended late-night hours, American fare, and over 100 types of whiskey for locals and visitors.  The Owensboro Times

  • Local band Sons of Habit debuted their new song Fool's Gold on The Morning Show with Chad and M Kat this morning and said they will tour with Dustin Lynch and Scotty McCreery later in the year—this breakout moment follows a busy tour schedule that has taken them from Lexington to L.A.  WOMI Owensboro

  • A $225,000 winning Cash Ball 225 ticket purchased at QQ Food Mart on Thursday matched four white ball numbers and the Cash Ball—making it the second big draw ticket sold in Owensboro in the last month.  14 News

  • A Cash Ball 225 ticket worth $225,000 was sold at QQ Food Mart in Owensboro, matching winning numbers 3, 25, 32, 34 — Cash Ball 25. The Kentucky Lottery advises winners to sign their ticket and claim the prize at lottery headquarters in Louisville within 180 days.  44 News
  • A $225,000 Cash Ball 225 lottery ticket was sold at QQ Food Mart off Highway 54 after matching four white ball numbers and the Cash Ball — the ticket must be signed, secured and claimed within 180 days.
