- ➤ Today, Daviess County Fiscal Court approved the largest real property tax cut in at least two decades by lowering the rate from 12.9 to 12.2 cents per $100 of assessed value for Fiscal Year 2025 to 2026 to support the county budget with no expected negative impact—while rates for tangible personal property and motor vehicles remain unchanged. - ➤ The Owensboro Utility Commission approved a rate increase that will raise the average residential utility bill by about $8.50 per month in October — the new rate climbs from 1.54 to 2.47 cents per kilowatt hour to help cover rising power costs. 44 News
- ➤ Daviess County Fiscal Court approved the largest tax cut in at least two decades by adopting a compensating rate that lowers the real property tax rate from 12.9 to 12.2 cents per $100 of assessed value—County Treasurer Jordan Johnson said this change is expected to fund the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 budget without hurting future revenues.
