Registration is open for the 2026 Miss Harvest Festival Pageants (Princess for ages 8-12, Teen for ages 13-15, and Miss for ages 16-21) with no pageant experience needed; the event will be held at 1 p.m. Sept.

12 at Bittel Hall on the Lions Club Fairgrounds and registration closes Sept. 4.

The Senior Community Center will open its new facility on Carter Road and West 2nd Street in early October.

The one-level center will include a chapel, fitness center, exercise room, classroom, and more (with an annual gala on Sept. 24) to replace its 40-year-old building.

On August 22, boys soccer games saw Owensboro Catholic post an 8-0 win (Andrew Bailey hat trick) over Butler County, Daviess County earn a 2-1 win (saves by Harrison DiProssimo-Dunaway) against Ohio County, and Apollo fall 3-1 to Murray.

Owensboro Catholic football fell to Boyle County 55-24 on Sunday as the Aces’ new-look roster posted standout plays despite the loss.

They will return home Friday to host Daviess County as they work to build on today's effort.
