  • After a one-year break, over 3,000 show dogs competed at the River Valley Cluster AKC All Breed Dog Shows hosted by the Owensboro River City Kennel Club and Southern Indiana Kennel Club—bringing together local dog lovers in a returning celebration of community spirit.  Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer
  • Wendell Foster will host its annual Forever a Difference Maker Gala and Auction on Sept. 6 at 5:30 p.m. at the Owensboro Convention Center—featuring live and silent auctions, complimentary wine and beer, and a sit-down dinner—while highlighting the Russelburg family as the featured family and supporting disability services.  The Owensboro Times

  • Don Mario’s launched its new location at Windridge Country Club in late May and now offers a menu that blends downtown favorites with country club flavors—its expanded bar serves cocktails and the banquet hall is open for events during the busy summer golf season.  The Owensboro Times

SPORTS NEWS

  • During Saturday's meets, the Lady Panthers finished second at the Warren East Twilight Invite—seven athletes placed in the top 15, with Makenzie Ross finishing fifth and others rounding out the times. The Apollo E-Gals finished fourth at the Fenton Dawson Invitational with senior Ava Falloway placing eighth overall, and the Owensboro Lady Devils ended their season opener at Sander Ferry Park in Hendersonville by finishing 22nd.  The Owensboro Times
  • Daviess County’s Jackson Power shot a career-best 68 at the Christian County Invitational, finishing second individually and helping his Panthers score 310 for a sixth-place finish—he began his round with back-to-back long putts that changed his play. The Hornets ended their round in fifth place while Owensboro Catholic posted a 316, with teams relying on steady individual efforts throughout the event.  The Owensboro Times
  • Today the 2025 KICL mountain bike season began at Rudy Mines Bike Track as youth riders in grades 5 through 12 from across Kentucky raced while parents cheered with cowbells. Twenty-four teams competed and experienced riders like Park Dudley and newcomer Olivia Dudley tested their skills — setting the stage for a busy season.  14 News
