- ➤ Early Thursday morning, a fire damaged a Philpot home on the 5700 block of Ware Road during a thunderstorm with strong winds — no one was inside as emergency crews brought the blaze under control. The Owensboro Times
- ➤ A large accident with injury closed the Owensboro bypass between KY603 and I-165 today—westbound traffic is detoured onto Hwy54 while eastbound is expected to reopen in about 30 minutes. 14 News

- ➤ 7 Brew Coffee opened in Owensboro with a ribbon cutting on Tuesday and held a donation weekend from August 29–31 where customers paid what they wanted to support the Owensboro Humane Society, which received over $7,000 and had pups join the event. - ➤ Federal agents said a major drug bust connected to the Sinaloa Cartel led to the arrest of 14 people in Kentucky and 51 across nearby states while more than 50 kilograms of drugs, 133 firearms, nearly 9,000 counterfeit pills, and $78,000 in cash were seized. WDRB
