Capt. Hannah Durbin, public affairs officer for the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, will join the Owensboro Air Show this weekend on Saturday and Sunday + showcasing her Kentucky roots as she returns home.

The Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce announced its 45th Leadership Owensboro class with 37 new members, making it one of the largest classes ever and promising to boost local business leadership.

Heritage Christian School will showcase a recreation of The Founders Museum: Road to Liberty at the White House complex as part of its America 250 celebration.

The public will view the display on Nov. 14 (a key activity alongside a visit to the Kentucky State Fair).

Kelley Paul visited Grace Christian Academy on Wednesday to read her new children's book Good Night, Young American (a tale about American history) and inspire students as the country marks its 250th anniversary.

She signed copies and discussed historical sites to encourage deeper learning.

James 'Jim' Brown Sr., an 81-year-old donor, reached 100 gallons by making 800 blood donations at the Western Kentucky Regional Blood Center over 25 years in Owensboro and said he will keep donating as long as the need continues.

Owensboro Health is moving its cancer services, including medical oncology, hematology, infusion and patient resources, to the eighth floor of its Regional Hospital while radiation oncology stays at Mitchell Memorial.

The move aims to improve access with expanded hours and more amenities by early summer.

Owensboro Pizza Week 2026 is set to begin Sept.

The Owensboro Catholic Aces won the City County Championship by beating Daviess County by 22 strokes with Triston Logsdon scoring 72 to claim the individual title — the team qualified for the Kentucky Golf Coaches Association Tournament scheduled for this weekend.

At Ben Hawes Golf Course, Daviess County won the City County Championship on Tuesday and Wednesday by posting +42 while Owensboro Catholic and Owensboro finished at +130 and +173.

The Lady Panthers swept the individual event and will prepare for the All-State tournament this weekend.
