🎭 Culture
On Saturday, thousands watched acrobatic jets along the riverfront during the Owensboro Air Show featuring the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and international teams marking the 25th anniversary of 9/11.
Today drivers face a Blue Bridge closure from noon to 5 p.m. & the show continues from 1 to 4 p.m.
🎓 Education
Daviess County High School will host the Fall Spectacular on Sept.
26 at its football stadium, where 700 student musicians from 13 bands and a special exhibition by the United States Marine Corps Brass Ensemble will take place.
Four Owensboro Public Schools teachers and the district math and science coordinator were chosen for the state’s RISE Leadership Academy to boost science instruction by holding summer internalization sessions plus meeting again in October to advance teacher leadership statewide.
🏈 Sports
The annual Legends Spooky Trail Race will take place at Ben Hawes Park on Oct.
25 at 3 p.m. Runners and walkers of all ages can enjoy the Rudy Mines trail system in costume as part of the event.
