  • Third Baptist Church invites neighbors to join its prayer service called Sewing Seeds of Peace on Tuesday, September 23 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at 527 Allen Street—local faith leaders and musicians will lead prayers and songs to bring hope and unity to our community.  The Owensboro Times

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Bluegrass Consulting Group acquired Wellington Parc Nursing and Rehabilitation—an 80-bed skilled nursing facility in Owensboro—from Wellington Parc Health Systems Inc. The sale closed September 2 for $9.475 million, and the new management will continue offering 24-hour care, therapy programs, and memory care.  The Owensboro Times
  • Kroger will break ground on a new 100,000 square foot Marketplace at 3914 Fairview Drive in Owensboro tomorrow at 11 a.m. CDT—local and state leaders will join Kroger associates to celebrate a $35 million investment offering fresh food, a drive-thru pharmacy, and more services.  44 News

  • The Newburgh Museum is honoring tri-state TV legend Marcia Yockey at 1 PM on Sunday, September 28th—broadcasters will share memories of her influential forecasts from past decades.  WOMI Owensboro
  • 102.7 The Game’s Live at 5 won Best Talk Show at the Kentucky Broadcasters Association 2025 Excellence in Broadcasting Awards on Sunday evening—hosted by Steve Turner and Vic Evans, the hour-long show highlights Owensboro high school athletes from 19 schools.  The Owensboro Times
  • Residents in Owensboro can sign up at Hammer & Stain on West Parrish Ave for a ceramic Christmas tree workshop that offers 11-inch and 13-inch vintage-style trees with full light kits and colorful pegs — reservations are required by October 4th.  WOMI Owensboro
  • The band Ole 60 will perform at the Owensboro Sportscenter on December 31 for their final stop on the U.S. Tour in The Ultimate New Year’s Eve Celebration—organizers promise special surprises. A band pre-sale is underway now and a venue pre-sale will start Tuesday as tickets go on sale to the public Friday at 10 a.m.  14 News

  • Tony Krampe has been named Owensboro market president at German American Bank; he will lead the bank’s financial services team in Daviess and Henderson counties + manage operations in Spencer and Perry counties in Indiana. He brings over 30 years of banking experience and a strong history of community involvement.  The Owensboro Times

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Owensboro officials will acquire the old Day Treatment campus site at 3001 KY 54 today and immediately sell it to 54 Grand LLC for demolition and commercial redevelopment—City Manager Nate Pagan said the move will improve public safety and boost economic development; the developer must demolish the buildings within 6 months and begin work within 48 months.  The Owensboro Times

  • Healthy Brain and Body will launch its new wellness center in Owensboro with a free community party this Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at 3520 New Hartford Road, Suite 112—those who RSVP online before the event will receive a $300 gift card for select services.  The Owensboro Times
