Hundreds took part in the Owensboro Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Smother’s Park on Saturday—raising more than $55,000 for research—with donations still being accepted.

The Owensboro Human Relations Commission held a forum Saturday to discuss a new housing act and the Uniform Residential Landlord Tenant Act—landlords and tenants shared worries over rising costs and lease changes.

Officials will use the forum data as they prepare another meeting on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the HL Neblett Community Center.

RiverValley Behavioral Health and the Owensboro Regional Suicide Prevention Coalition held a Life Savers Walk and Butterfly Release at Moreland Park from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. to honor loved ones and raise awareness during Suicide Prevention Month.

RiverValley Behavioral Health is hosting free QPR Training sessions every Monday in September at The Crowne — the sessions teach community members how to recognize suicide warning signs.

Henderson edged Daviess County 7—6 on Friday night when quarterback Brody Belt scored a touchdown late in the second quarter and Daviess County's missed field goal in the fourth sealed the win—Daviess County also recorded a 27‐yard touchdown run but failed on the extra point, leaving them with a narrow loss. The result improved Henderson's record to 3—2 while dropping Daviess County to 2—3.

Owensboro's Lady Devils beat Barren County 5-2 today as Lily Nieman scored twice with an assist and Ella Hall scored and assisted.

Lilly-Paige Early added a goal with two assists—Adalyn Selby scored, Caroline Smith assisted and Hayley Sikes made 10 saves in goal.
