- ➤ This morning, the Daviess County Fiscal Court confirmed a harmful algal bloom in Carpenter's Lake near Owensboro — a risk for pets and people — and the Kentucky Division of Water advised residents to avoid contact with the water. WOMI Owensboro
- ➤ The Green River District Health Department advised Owensboro residents to protect against mosquito bites as West Nile Virus cases rise. The CDC reported six cases in Kentucky this year — with three in the Green River District — and urged residents to eliminate standing water, use EPA-registered insect repellent, and wear long clothing outdoors. 44 News
