- ➤ The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Unit is hosting a free pet microchipping event for dogs and cats at Yellow Creek Park on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.—Owensboro and Daviess County residents can attend by showing ID while officers scan pets for chips and answer questions about pet care. - ➤ Two Daviess County lawmakers have drafted bills after the sale of a long-vacant juvenile justice property on KY54 exposed delays that leave parcels off the tax rolls—aiming to streamline the state’s surplus property process and require ballot votes for tax increases over 4%. They plan to present draft language at a committee hearing soon and will file the bills in January. The Owensboro Times
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Green River District Health Department advised residents in Daviess and Henderson counties to be cautious of mosquitoes after confirming West Nile virus cases.
