  • Families attended Boo at the Zoo where thousands celebrated early Halloween with costumed displays and themed activities—organizers said the event supports zoo programs and community fun.  WDRB

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Kentucky NAACP held its state conference in Owensboro on Saturday where leaders and groups like Non-Violence Owensboro discussed change and passed resolutions to fund pre-K education and repeal House Bill 4—these resolutions will be presented at Sunday's closing ceremony.  TriStateHomepage.com
  • Daviess County Judge-Executive Charlie Castlen nominated attorney and pastor Tim Kline to fill the seat on the Daviess County Public Library board—Kline will take over from Susan Montalvo-Gesser.  Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer
  • The Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport board approved a $2.5 million project to build a new 10-unit T-hangar complex with state funding via House Bill 1 — the first hangar construction in nearly 40 years that aims to address a 25-aircraft waitlist. The project will be finished by fall 2026 and comes with LED airfield lighting upgrades and an environmental review for a new terminal.  The Owensboro Times
