- ➤ Audubon Area Community Services and AmeriCorps Seniors will host a free Veterans Resource Fair Stand Down on October 2nd from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM for veterans, active duty, retired, National Guard, Reservists, and their families. - ➤ The Owensboro community is preparing for the 4th Annual Erica Owen Domestic Violence Awareness 5k — a run held during Domestic Violence Awareness Month to honor her legacy and provide resources for those in need — and registration will open soon. TriStateHomepage.com
- ➤ Glenn Funeral Home will host its 12th Glenn's Give & Go event on October 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 900 New Hartford Road to collect donations for Saving Paws Animal Rescue of Kentucky, which works to lower animal euthanasia and boost spay-and-neuter education. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Cravens Elementary in Owensboro will receive its third silver PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) award from the Kentucky Department of Education tomorrow morning. The school is honored for its efforts to improve academics, social skills and mental health. 14 News
- ➤ DCHS JROTC earned its Navy Distinguished Unit Award for the 10th consecutive year — a sign of top performance — and was recognized with Academic Honors for the fourth year. The 50-member unit logged about 1,000 hours of community service last year and can nominate up to three seniors for federal military academies. The Owensboro Times

- ➤ Owensboro Health Regional Hospital is the first in western Kentucky to offer pulsed field ablation for AFib and performed its first procedure on September 25th.
