- ➤ First responders reached a gas line break near West 2nd Street and Woodford Avenue downtown — Owensboro Municipal Utilities turned off power lines for safety, leaving about 350 customers without power. The Owensboro Times

- ➤ Joe Ford Nature Park in Owensboro will host a Bigfoot Day celebration on October 25th from 10 AM to 2 PM (featuring expert talks, photo ops, and meet and greet opportunities) while food, snacks, and open trails welcome visitors (adding to the fall folklore experience). WOMI Owensboro

- ➤ The Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education received a seven-year, $35 million federal GEAR UP grant to expand college access for over 10,000 students across eight regions. The grant will help improve higher education opportunities in Kentucky. Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer
- ➤ Jacqueline Jackson, a teacher at Owensboro Community & Technical College, won the statewide Veterinary Technician of the Year award during the Kentucky Veterinary Technician Association’s meeting — part of the Mid-America Veterinary Conference. Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer

- ➤ Daviess County Fiscal Court held the first reading of an ordinance that temporarily pauses applications for certain group housing facilities for up to one year—public input raised concerns over their locations.
