  • Trail of Treats returns to downtown Owensboro on Thursday, October 30, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.—the family-friendly event will offer over 90 booths along West 2nd Street and Veterans Boulevard with candy, music, costumed characters and festive decorations—and booth spaces are already full.  44 News
  • Inmates at the DCDC spent the summer growing thousands of pumpkins and mums for schools, nursing homes and nonprofits near Owensboro. The program gives them work and good time credit — a long fall tradition that brings color and care to the community.  The Owensboro Times

CULTURE NEWS

  • A Facebook post raised concerns that the Belle of Louisville was gone, but the riverboat is operating normally even though it has not docked in Owensboro this year.   • Owensboro High School hosted its annual Blue Collar Breakfast on Friday at Dee’s Diner where carpentry and masonry students met trade professionals from local businesses.   • Jessie Hettinger—chairwoman of the parade planning committee and second in command at the Owensboro-Daviess County Veterans Organization—has asked residents to join the Veterans Day parade on November 11th.  Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer

HEALTH NEWS

  • Owensboro Health's Give Cancer the Boot fundraiser will be held on October 25 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Grand Stable Venue in Daviess County — featuring live country music from Cam Thompson and live painting by local artist Aaron Kizer — to raise funds for Mitchell Memorial Cancer Center and honor those affected by cancer.  WOMI Owensboro

  • A Fall Fun Guide for Southern Indiana has been released and lists nearly 30 family-friendly spots with pumpkin patches, corn mazes, hayrides and even Zombie Paintball for autumn adventures across the region. SPORTS NEWS

  • High school football teams played in Home Team Friday Week 8 on Friday night during the Fall Fest weekend across the Tri-State — games began mainly at 6:30 p.m. and featured matchups such as Owensboro Catholic at Fort Knox and Reitz versus Bosse; final scores from these contests were posted later that evening.  TriStateHomepage.com
  • The Owensboro flag football team, undefeated for three years, was invited to represent Kentucky in the 2026 Special Olympics and will compete in Minneapolis in June—after playing in a Region 1 tournament at Kentucky Wesleyan College from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on October 12, the team, led by coach Dustin Lindsey and his brother Zach, is also holding fundraisers to help cover the $25,000 needed for the 10 athletes.  TriStateHomepage.com
