- ➤ The Women’s Guild of Owensboro announced its 2025 grant recipients today, awarding $26,525 to 14 nonprofits from over $200,000 in requested funds to support local programs and celebrate 85 years of service—its Annual Luncheon on May 6 to 7 will raise funds for future grants. The Owensboro Times
- ➤ Bethabara Baptist Church in Philpot marked its 200th anniversary last Sunday with a homecoming that featured a worship service, time capsule opening and meal attended by about 200 current and former members—many of whom call the church their home. The church also held a block party, concert and cemetery service in recent weeks and buried a new time capsule to be opened in 20 years. The Owensboro Times

- ➤ Kentucky Wesleyan College earned national recognition in the U.S. News and World Report Best Colleges rankings by climbing to No. 21 among Best Regional Colleges in the South and No. 36 on Top Performers on Social Mobility. The college said its low student-to-faculty ratio, more than 40 programs and support for first-generation students helped boost its rankings—making it the top-ranked Kentucky institution in its category.
