  • Drivers in Owensboro are advised to be extra cautious this fall as deer become more active and may cross roads at twilight—AAA advises slowing down and keeping control instead of swerving to avoid collisions and injuries.  WOMI Owensboro

  • Site Selection magazine ranked Kentucky eighth for new jobs, business investments and major building projects, a sign of growing economic strength. Gov. Andy Beshear said the ranking shows the state has been making steady progress in attracting quality investments.  WDRB

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Officials at KDFWR announced that new reciprocal agreements went into effect October 16 so that licensed Kentucky anglers and waterfowl hunters can use their own licenses on shared waters with neighboring states. The agreements cover major rivers such as the Ohio and Mississippi — and hunters must follow the bank state’s rules, with duck and goose seasons opening November 27.  TriStateHomepage.com

HEALTH NEWS

  • Community members are holding fundraisers to help Windy Day cover medical expenses as she fights Neuroendocrine Carcinoma Cancer. The Zebra Strong 5K will take place on November 8 at 8:00 a.m. at Vass CDJR (adult registration is $25 and kids' is $15) while a Benefit Car Wash is set for October 25.  WOMI Owensboro

  • Returning from a bye week, Daviess County lost 21—20 to Meade County as mistakes cost them the win; head coach Quadarius Wallace said the one-point loss was especially disheartening. The Panthers will travel to South Warren next Friday.  The Owensboro Times
