  • Eighty-six Tri-State veterans traveled to Washington DC today with Honor Flight of Southern Indiana to visit memorials and share their experiences—Navy veteran Tom Isbill helped lay a wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier—calling the event an unforgettable honor.  TriStateHomepage.com
  • Sixteen-year-old Carmynn Blakeley, who is visually impaired, and her family received keys Friday to their new Habitat for Humanity home—designed with features like step-free entry and accessible fixtures—sponsored by the Owensboro Lions Club. The home in the Carter Community Court neighborhood marks the end of three years of hard work, and the family is excited to move in.  The Owensboro Times
  • The Owensboro Community Band begins rehearsals today at 2:30 to 4 p.m. on the second floor of the Owensboro Museum of Science and History—inviting musicians of all ages to join the band as it prepares for public concerts on November 29 at First Baptist Church and December 6 at the Museum.  The Owensboro Times
  • Mike Henshaw received the AARP Kentucky Andrus Award for Community Service on Friday during a Habitat for Humanity home dedication at Carter Community Court. The retired biologist and woodworker, who has volunteered for over 15 years with Habitat and local groups (including RiverPark Center and Western Kentucky Botanical Garden), said he valued the chance to help build homes (and change lives).  The Owensboro Times

  • Faith Fest 2025 will unite 18 local faith communities and two organizations in Owensboro from November 7 to November 23 to promote peace, learning, and fellowship. The festival — featuring prayer services, concerts, youth events, and wellness programs — will conclude with an Interfaith Thanksgiving Service at 2:30 p.m. on November 23 at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation.  The Owensboro Times

  • Jordan Wilson, executive director of the Friends of Sinners recovery program in Owensboro, shared his journey from drug addiction to healing—he has been sober for ten years—and now leads a team that helps people rebuild their lives.   • At the 3A cross country meet, Apollo’s boys team won by 14 points and Daviess County’s girls team won on a tough course—Owensboro runners missed the team cutoff but had individual qualifiers while Owensboro Catholic’s Lady Aces claimed the 1A title with Peyton Reid finishing first.  The Owensboro Times
  • The Owensboro Red Devils lost 4-2 to South Oldham on Saturday evening after building an early 2-0 lead, ending their State Tournament run. Daviess County’s Lady Panthers also dropped a 2-1 overtime decision to Central Hardin, which ended their tournament bid.  The Owensboro Times
