  • Tucker’s Treehouse opened on Tuesday at 3419 Wathens Crossing to help families deal with grief by offering group sessions, art therapy and guided play—its ribbon-cutting ceremony was held by the Owensboro Chamber of Commerce.  44 News

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Old Navy is now open today for early shoppers at Gateway Commons while Buckle, which opened last week, gives people a new choice for clothes. Old Navy will have its grand opening on Saturday, November 15th at 10 a.m.  WOMI Owensboro

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Owensboro Dance Theatre has launched its Mother Ginger contest for the 33rd annual Nutcracker production, where KO Lewis of Owensboro Public Schools and Mason Head of Daviess County Public Schools battle for the role. Community donations count as votes until Saturday, November 15 to decide the winner.  44 News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Estes Elementary School in Owensboro said a TikTok challenge in which students threw wet paper wads onto restroom ceilings had occurred recently—officials warned parents to discuss with their children that the behavior is inappropriate. They said any student caught taking part will face a week of after-school detention doing cleaning duties.  TriStateHomepage.com

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Trooper Corey King of the Kentucky State Police stressed the need for local drivers to move over for emergency vehicles—warning that failure to comply may lead to a $500 fine or jail time. He advised slowing down when it is unsafe to change lanes so that first responders remain protected and vehicles stay available.  44 News
  • Today, the Owensboro-Daviess County Metropolitan Planning Organization approved bike and pedestrian projects that extend the Greenbelt Trail along Daniels Lane and Fairview Drive and add lanes linking parks and installing 10 repair stations. The projects will be added to the region’s Transportation Improvement Plan, and city and county officials will soon decide on covering the required 20% local match funding — a decision that could affect up to $380,000 for additional work.  The Owensboro Times

  • Daviess County athletes Jonathan Moss and DeAaron Watkins signed their college commitment letters today as Moss commits to Chattanooga and Watkins to McKendree University—both have played over 1,200 games together since fifth grade and now aim to win another 3rd Region Championship.  The Owensboro Times
