COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Glenn Funeral Home is using its front lobby and parking lot as a hub for holiday giving to help restock the Help Office amid food bank strain from SNAP uncertainty. Donations of non-perishable foods will be accepted from November 17 through December 22 during business hours, and a drive-thru event will run on November 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. — the funeral home will also make a monetary donation to the nonprofit.  The Owensboro Times
  • A detailed list of Christmas parades across the Tri-State region has been published—including the Owensboro-Daviess County Christmas Parade starting at 4:30 p.m. November 22 in Owensboro—and parades in Henderson, Hancock and other counties scheduled later in November and December.  TriStateHomepage.com

  • Holes to Go is a mobile mini golf business that brings a nine‐hole course to Owensboro parties, festivals and schools — owner Joshua Bevil said his team sets up and takes down the course and advises customers to book early as demand grows and plans to add more courses soon.  The Owensboro Times

SPORTS NEWS

  • Run Your Race hosted its second annual endurance race last weekend with races on Saturday including a 5K, 10K, and half marathon and on Sunday a marathon and 50K, nearly doubling turnout to 238 participants. Funds were raised for Wendell Foster Center in honor of 7-year-old Georgia Claire Powell while Mark Adams won the marathon.  14 News
