- ➤ Owensboro Racing & Gaming officials announced that their first New Year’s Eve celebration will take place on December 31, where guests will enjoy free live music by DJ Shay and others—plus prizes including five winners receiving $100 Free Play, one winning $2,026, and a second drawing for $500. 14 News
- ➤ Downtown Owensboro streets will close for the Owensboro-Daviess County Christmas Parade on Saturday, November 22 as closures begin at 2 p.m.—2nd Street from Greyhound Drive to Walnut Street and nearby side streets will be closed. The parade will start at 4:30 p.m.—Officials say the Daviess Street parking garage remains open via Veterans Boulevard while the Locust Street garage will remain closed during the event. 44 News
- ➤ St. Benedict’s Shelter in Owensboro marked its 20th year by launching a 2025 Bed Sponsorship Campaign that asked residents, churches, and businesses to sponsor a bed for $500—each sponsorship will help fund expanded services and the upcoming Nehemiah Initiative in January. - ➤ An Owensboro mother and her three children became first-time homeowners on Thursday thanks to a gift from the Alma Randolph Foundation and Habitat for Humanity—she celebrated her sobriety anniversary when she received the keys to her fully furnished home. - ➤ Today, Owensboro begins the holiday season at 5 p.m. with the Hometown Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony downtown.
