  • Energy on Ice opens today at Kentucky Legend Pier behind the Owensboro Convention Center with a $5 admission that includes skate rental and a $4 group rate for eight or more, and the rink will operate until December 27 with hours on Fridays from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m.—visitors can also enjoy hot chocolate and snacks.  44 News
  • Christmas at Panther Creek opened Friday night in Owensboro—lighting up a mile-long drive with over 400,000 lights. Tickets cost $5 per vehicle—supporting several non-profit organizations, and the display runs nightly until January 1.  14 News

  • Local emergency officials reported that false crash alerts from phones have led to more than a dozen units being dispatched even when no accident occurred. SPORTS NEWS

  • Owensboro Catholic beat Beechwood 41-40 in the 2A semi-finals at Steele Stadium when a penalty gave the Tigers an untimed down—though their two-point attempt failed. The win sends the Aces to the state championship for the third year in a row—coach Jason Morris said the team will now focus on Lexington Christian.  The Owensboro Times
