  • The Green River District Health Department in Owensboro urged residents to follow holiday food safety tips, warning that busy kitchens can lead to foodborne illness—especially for children, older adults, and those with compromised immunity. The department recommends cooking poultry to 165°F, ground meats to 160°F, and other meats to 145°F with a three-minute rest while keeping hot foods at 140°F and cold foods at 40°F.  44 News

  • Trinity (Whitesville)'s boys basketball team won 60-39 over the Owensboro Knights in their season opener today at the Horn Center.
