- ➤ Local photographer Jacy English said her tailgate dropped a bucket of baseballs on Parrish Avenue this morning, and two men in a white truck stopped to chase and gather every ball so she would not lose her equipment. - ➤ Emma Stephens, a Daviess County High alum from Owensboro, will join the IU band at the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day, making her the first Kentucky woman to do so. She said the historic milestone reflects her lifelong passion for music. The Owensboro Times
- ➤ Owensboro Memorial Gardens will host the annual Angel of Hope Candlelight Ceremony today at 6 p.m. in the Garden of Faith, where guest speaker Kayla Curry will share support for families who have experienced the loss of a child. The Owensboro Times

- ➤ El Camino is planning to expand with its new location on Triplett Street after nearly two years at New Hartford Road. The restaurant, operating out of a renovated former Amvets building (1400A Triplett Street), aims to open in early 2026 while keeping its established menu. The Owensboro Times
- ➤ Tickets are on sale for a new flight service from Owensboro to Charlotte with one-way fares starting at $55. The service will begin Feb. 26, 2026 and runs daily except Tuesdays and Saturdays. 44 News
- ➤ Rosie Posie Stitchery grew from Lori Tanner’s craft project for her daughters two years ago into a small business selling custom hand-embroidered hats, jackets, and more via social media (locally featured in a parenting magazine). - ➤ The Greater Owensboro Leadership Institute has received a $1,200 grant to support local art projects, including an Artist Mixer for networking and a Portrait Project to share residents' stories — both efforts aim to boost community connection. The Owensboro Times
