- ➤ Hundreds of local families visited KY 54 Walmart on Dec. 18 for Shop with a Cop (sponsored by the Fraternal Order of Police) where officers from multiple agencies helped check off Christmas wishes. The Owensboro Times
- ➤ Close to 400 families visited the Salvation Army (215 Ewing Road) on Thursday to pick up donations through the Angel Tree campaign (a holiday support program) in Owensboro. Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer
- ➤ Charles Cobb donated $4.6 million to local colleges and nonprofit organizations to support education and community programs in Owensboro, and Larry O'Bryan said Cobb was remembered as a man who gave back without seeking the spotlight. Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer

- ➤ Owensboro High School band teacher Aaron Klausing was named a semifinalist for the CMA Foundation’s Music Teachers of Excellence award — a mark of his skill and passion for music teaching. Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer

- ➤ Demolition has begun at the former Day Treatment site on KY 54 near Gateway Commons. 54 Grand LLC plans a new commercial development with multi-year approvals and construction, marking the first visible step forward. The Owensboro Times
