- ➤ An Owensboro family will receive a fully paid for home through the Alma Randolph Charitable Foundation’s HUTS Home program just in time for Christmas+ marking the 97th recipient over nine years and providing long term stability for those in need. WAVE

- ➤ Owensboro will host the Heartland Travel Showcase from March 6 — 8, 2026, drawing travel planners and tour operators for scheduled appointments and networking sessions including an opening celebration at Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The Owensboro Times
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Three local OCTC students have been awarded full-ride scholarships for the Radiography Technology program from a $75,000 grant from the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education & matched by Owensboro Health. The recipients will get $10,000 each to cover tuition and fees as they prepare for their national exam in 2026. The Owensboro Times

- ➤ Jessie Harrell was named the new chaplain at Daviess County Detention Center following Chaplain Emil Herzog's 21-year service — Harrell from Tennessee and affiliated with Good News Global said he will support inmate and staff spiritual needs while building on established recovery programs in Owensboro. - ➤ Owensboro Times announced the 2025 Boys' Soccer All-OT Team and Player of the Year finalists from local high schools; an awards ceremony in May will honor the overall winner. Selections were based on coach nominations (from schools including Owensboro and Apollo) to recognize top talent. The Owensboro Times
- ➤ Daviess County bowling competed in the Mustang Invitational in Paducah and finished second after falling short to Graves County. Coach Jimmy Carroll said the team overcame adversity, with Team A’s Evan Onstott (224, 236) earning All-Tournament Team honors while Team B finished 11th. The Owensboro Times
