  • Jean and Greg Sexton were named winners of OMU’s 2025 Christmas Light Contest — receiving a $250 OMU gift card and yard sign — for their festive, all-sides display at their home on East 19th Street.  The Owensboro Times

Dallas Roberts said the Henderson-based company now offers personalized consultations and reliable service to both large and small local customers.  The Owensboro Times
  • Marc McCoy, owner of ACME Chicken Bowls, launches Maza Street Kitchen & Catering to bring his Lebanese culinary traditions to Owensboro; his food truck will begin running this spring while catering bookings start in February 2026.  The Owensboro Times

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Owensboro Times announced its 2025 Volleyball All-OT Team and Player of the Year finalists from local high schools, selected by coaches (including Owensboro, Apollo, and Daviess County) on Monday. A ceremony in May will name winners for fall, winter and spring sports.  The Owensboro Times
  • Owensboro’s rising BMX star, Cullen Sumner (15), is in pediatric ICU at Norton Children’s Hospital after a training injury at home while attempting a 720 trick. Doctors expect his recovery to take 6 to 8 weeks and his family hopes he will return for the USA BMX Freestyle National Championships in South Jordan on March 27-28.  The Owensboro Times
  • Residents can vote now for the Owensboro Times Players of the Week for winter 2025-26, Week 2. Voting for male and female athletes ends at 5 p.m. Wednesday with one player per team while multiple votes are allowed.  The Owensboro Times
