If you missed it Saturday, the Owensboro Catholic girls won the program's first state title at the Class A State Cross Country Championships at Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington. Five Lady Aces placed in the top 20, led by senior Peyton Reid, who took fourth in 18:35.89.

Peyton Reid finished fourth, trailing only three runners

A year ago, the Lady Aces fell short of that title, and the disappointment drove this season. Before the race, Peyton said the plan was simple: “Sleep. Water. Eating well and just being excited.” Her dad, Jacob Reid, is the head coach.

  • Region title: fourth straight in Class 1A
  • Peyton Reid: won the regional meet individually
  • Seniors: six led the team this season
