ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Rob Holland, a 13-time national aerobatic champion and Owensboro Air Show favorite, died yesterday in an aircraft accident at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia — the FAA, NTSB, and Defense Department are investigating his crash. The Owensboro Times
- ➤ Flood damage washed away the pavement on Griffith Station Road between KY-279 and Willett Road near Stanley, so county crews closed the road and said it will remain closed for several weeks — they will repair the road and remove debris as soon as possible. TriStateHomepage.com

- ➤ Wonder Whip is opening a second location in Owensboro this summer at 2600 Frederica Street—the former Bowen Tire site—with local firms constructing the building to offer walk-up and drive-thru service. Owner Seth Woodward said the investment will create around 50 new jobs while keeping the menu and pricing similar to the original on KY 144. The Owensboro Times

- ➤ The Owensboro Museum of Fine Art and the Owensboro Art Guild are hosting the 1st Annual High School Juried Art Exhibition that will show 58 works selected from over 100 submissions by students from six local high schools — the public preview and awards ceremony is on Sunday, April 27 from 2 to 4 p.m. at OMFA and the exhibit runs through May 9. - ➤ Part of KY 1207 — between KY 81 and Todd Bridge Road — closed Thursday for a cross drain replacement in Daviess County. Officials said the road reopened Friday morning. 14 News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ At the end of March, House Bill 72, sponsored by Owensboro Representative DJ Johnson, was signed into law to expand healthcare access by allowing limited X-ray machine operators to perform diagnostic imaging at facilities using other imaging equipment.
