ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Early Saturday morning, a fatal single-vehicle crash occurred near the county line on U.S. 60 West when a car left the road, struck a utility pole, and rolled into a waterlogged field—officials later repaired the pole and reopened the road by mid-morning.  The Owensboro Times
  • The Owensboro Fire Department sent 10 Tech Rescue Team members to London to help with search and rescue efforts in Laurel County following Friday night storms — officials reported multiple deaths.  14 News

CULTURE NEWS

  • A new bluegrass mural was unveiled downtown near the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame on Saturday morning, showcasing six panels that celebrate Owensboro's musical roots. Chamber Young Professionals and partners—Bluegrass Music Capital Initiative, the Bluegrass Hall of Fame, the City of Owensboro and OWB Downtown LLC—developed the rotating display that will add two more panels later.  The Owensboro Times

HEALTH NEWS

  • On May 11, 62-year-old Tim Mulligan collapsed while walking along the Owensboro riverfront when his heart stopped and a bystander gave CPR until help arrived—doctors later implanted a defibrillator and he is expected to recover fully.  The Owensboro Times
