- ➤ The Dugan Best Neighborhood Alliance will host Gala Day this Saturday at Dugan Best Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. where families can enjoy an inflatable water slide, music, prize giveaways and free food—attendees will meet local police and firefighters while getting health screenings and safety checks. - ➤ The Owensboro Flea Market will return this weekend at the Owensboro Convention Center with over 275 vendor booths expected - admission costs $2 while children 15 and under enter for free. 14 News
- ➤ Jerry Morris invites the community to the inaugural St. Jude BBQ Cook-Off at Jerry & Vickie Morris’ Farm in Whitesville on Saturday, July 12th with meals starting at 4 p.m. and live music and fireworks later in the evening; twenty cooking teams will compete for a $350 entry fee per team, with proceeds benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and a live auction & drop box auction beginning at 5 p.m. The Owensboro Times

- ➤ Organizers of the annual ROMP Festival said the four-day event—drawing over 19,500 people from 36 states and seven countries at Yellow Creek Park—proved a big success. Officials announced the 2026 festival will be held from June 24 to 27 at the same park. The Owensboro Times
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A contractor for KYTC began closing Ralph Avenue in Owensboro Monday for up to 30 days as part of the KY 54 widening project — motorists can use Commonwealth Court and Woodland Plaza Drive to bypass the blockage. TriStateHomepage.com
- ➤ The Owensboro Blue Bridge is set to close in 2-3 weeks for a construction project that will replace a 750-ft span of concrete-filled deck and repair a second span since a full bridge closure is required—local drivers should plan to use routes through Henderson or the U.S. 231 William H. Natcher Bridge. Authorities say the repairs will continue until November, and a tentative July 14 start was reported but not yet confirmed by the Kentucky Transportation Department. WOMI Owensboro
